WELCOME TO "Institut Valldemossa"

Institut VALLDEMOSSA is a state secondary school located in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It offers secondary education as well as post compulsory education. The school aims to develop multilingualism in the context of a minority language, as is the case of the Catalan language which is the language used in most subjects of the curriculum. However, some of the subjects are carried out in English as part of a CLIL programme begun in 1999. Spanish is compulsory at all levels, and French and Italian are taught as third languages. The students are aged between 12 and 18, about 20% from immigrant’s families. In the present economic crisis situation we have seen an increase in the number of racist demonstrations both in streets and the media.

Institut Valldemossa has a long tradition of school international collaboration and school exchanges: with Lymm School (England), Gymnasium Jana Nerudy (Czech Republic), Istituto Antonio Zanon and Liceo Roncalli (Italy) and the Lycée Saint Félix (France).

L’ Institut és un centre públic de secundària.El Valldemossa té una llarga tradició de col·laboració internacional entre escoles i d’intercanvis escolars, entre d’altres: Lymm School (Anglaterra), Liceo Roncalli (Itàlia) i el Lycée Saint Félix (França) i Puolalanmäen lukio (Finlàndia).
